What is shipping
fraud and who does it target?

Shipping fraud occurs when criminals impersonate legitimate logistics companies like GlobalParcels LLC to deceive individuals and businesses into sending money or sharing personal information.

Anyone can be targeted — scammers target individuals, small businesses and large corporations alike. No one is immune, and scams are becoming increasingly sophisticated.

Scammers use our brand name — fraudsters copy our logo, website design and email format to create convincing fake communications that appear to come from GlobalParcels LLC.

The goal is always money or data — fraudsters aim to collect upfront payments for fake fees, steal banking details, or harvest personal information for identity theft.

Know the scams targeting
shipping customers

Fraudsters use many different tactics. Here are the most common scams that impersonate GlobalParcels LLC and how they work.

Phishing Emails & Texts

Fake emails or SMS messages claiming your parcel is held, delayed or requires payment to be released. They contain links to fraudulent websites designed to steal your login or card details.

Example scam message

"Your GlobalParcels package #GP-884721 is on hold. Pay a $4.99 customs release fee to receive your delivery." — followed by a fake link.

Phone Call Scams (Vishing)

Callers impersonating GlobalParcels LLC staff claim your shipment is seized or that you owe customs fees. They pressure you to pay immediately via wire transfer, gift card or cryptocurrency.

Example scam call

"This is GlobalParcels security. Your package has been flagged by customs. You must pay $299 immediately to release it or it will be destroyed."

Fake Websites & Portals

Fraudulent websites that look identical to GlobalParcels LLC are used to steal tracking information, login credentials or payment details. They use domain names similar to ours.

Example fake domains

globalparcels-tracking.com, global-parcels-llc.net, globalparcelsdelivery.com — these are NOT our official websites.

Fake Invoice Scams

Businesses receive fake invoices appearing to come from GlobalParcels LLC for services never rendered. These invoices contain fraudulent bank details designed to intercept legitimate payments.

Who is targeted

Business finance departments, accounts payable teams and procurement managers are most commonly targeted by fake invoice fraud.

Job Offer Scams

Fake job offers using the GlobalParcels LLC name ask victims to receive and reship parcels, act as "payment agents" or provide bank details for "salary deposits" — all fraudulent activities.

Red flag

GlobalParcels LLC never recruits employees via WhatsApp, Telegram or unsolicited emails, and never asks job applicants to receive or forward packages.

WhatsApp & Social Media Scams

Fraudsters contact victims via WhatsApp, Facebook or Instagram posing as GlobalParcels staff, claiming parcels need fees paid before delivery. They use fake profile photos and company logos.

Important note

GlobalParcels LLC does NOT contact customers about deliveries via WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Instagram DMs or any other social media platform.

8 warning signs of a shipping scam

If you notice any of these signs in a communication claiming to be from GlobalParcels LLC, treat it as fraudulent immediately.

1

Request for upfront payment

Any request to pay a fee — customs, release, clearance or admin — before receiving your parcel is a scam. We never charge these fees upfront via external links.

2

Payment via gift card or crypto

Demands for payment by iTunes gift cards, Google Play cards, Bitcoin or wire transfer are a clear sign of fraud. We only accept standard payment methods through our official website.

3

Urgency and pressure tactics

Scammers create false urgency — "pay within 24 hours or your parcel is destroyed." Legitimate shipping companies do not threaten customers or create artificial deadlines.

4

Suspicious email addresses

Emails from @gmail.com, @yahoo.com or domains that don't match globalparcels.com exactly are fraudulent. Always check the full sender email address carefully.

5

Poor spelling and grammar

Scam messages often contain spelling mistakes, grammatical errors and unusual phrasing. Our official communications are professionally written and proofread.

6

Unexpected parcel notifications

Receiving tracking notifications for a parcel you didn't order or expect is a major red flag. Do not click any links — contact us directly to verify.

7

Requests for personal information

Requests for your National ID, Social Security Number, full bank account details or date of birth to "verify" your identity before releasing a parcel are fraudulent.

8

Contact via social media or WhatsApp

GlobalParcels LLC never initiates contact about your delivery via WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram, Facebook or any social media platform. Any such contact is a scam.
